HOW IT WORKS

Lumecca is an industry leading, breakthrough Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology that delivers up to 3X more energy than competing products. It’s unparalleled technology allows clinicians to treat a variety of skin types and conditions, often with just a single session, compared to the standard 4-6 sessions. IPL will clear, detoxify and rejuvenate your skin and treat your imperfections, using selective photothermolysis. Lumecca can be used on all areas of the body.

The most common areas of treatment are zones that are regularly exposed to the sun. This often includes the face, neck, decolletage, legs, hands and arms.

WHAT TO EXPECT

If you have 30 mins to spare, you have time for Lumecca. Quick, easy and effective - all our favourite things.

During treatment there will be a bright flash of light that feels like a light elastic sensation. Immediately following the treatment, you may notice that your skin feels warm, and/or may appear pinkish, while lesions may appear darker than usual. This is completely normal; warmth will dissipate over the next 24-48 hours, and colouring will improve drastically over the following 5-7 days. Over the next 24-48 hours, you may see a darkening of pigmented spots; in the week afterwards the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to an evening out of skin tone.

After treating vascular lesions you may see the vein blanch and disappear or a colour change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days.

FOR BEST RESULTS

How many sessions will I require?

Results will be noticeable after 1-2 sessions, some people continue with 5-6 sessions depending on severity of damage and desired result. For pigmentation, 1-3 treatments is generally sufficient, though we recommend maintenance treatments. For diffuse redness (rosacea) or blood vessels, it may take 2-5 treatments for optimal results.

Are there any important pre- or post- treatment care protocols I should follow?

Most people who receive Lumecca do so without any side effects.
Please do not tan for one month prior to your treatment. This includes tanning beds, sprays and self-tanners.
Prior to treatment, please stop all Retin-A, retinol, glycolics, bleaching creams and exfoliants three days prior to treatment.
On treatment day, please arrive with clean skin, no lotions, creams or makeups.
Post treatment, continue to avoid direct, or excessive sun exposure or tanning.
Following your treatment, we recommend avoiding hot tubs, whirlpools, saunas, or excessive sweating for 24-48 hours.
